I have spent more than two decades doing one thing with my whole self: helping children thrive and families flourish. That commitment has taken me from Gainesville to Manhattan, Orlando to Washington DC, and through a graduate degree earned while working full-time. This is my story.

My career began not with a plan, but with a calling. As a college student babysitting part-time, I found myself stepping into full-time care for two very small children after an unexpected family tragedy. That year shaped me. When I moved on, I carried the knowledge that this work was serious, that it mattered, and that I wanted to do it with everything I had.
What followed was twenty-one years of deliberate, educated practice. I completed two degrees while working full-time as a nanny, including a master’s in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida, where I maintained a 4.0 GPA while caring for a family of five. I have never believed that experience and education are separate things. Each informs the other constantly.
I stay current with the evolving field of child development. I seek out new learning. I bring an informed, reflective perspective to every family I work with.
In my day job, I’m a discreet, highly experienced childcare professional with 20+ years supporting distinguished families using deep, hands-on expertise in full-charge childcare, household operations, and travel support. I’m known for creating structured, emotionally intelligent home environments that allow parents to operate at a high level while children thrive developmentally, socially, and academically.

My longest and most cherished position. I joined this family when their first child was six months old and have been present through the births of two more children, now ages 4, 6, and 9. In a true full-charge role, I manage all aspects of the children’s lives and much of the household: daily school runs, extracurriculars, healthy meals, travel, medical appointments, and the thousand small things that make a busy family run. I have provided extended solo coverage during parents’ travel and developed close, long-standing relationships with the extended family.
2017
Private Family
A rich, wide-ranging family assistant role for a dual-career family of three children. I provided creative, flexible care alongside genuine household management: vehicles, organization, schedules, and anything else that arose. I also provided warm and sensitive support for a live-in grandfather who was low-vision and non-English-speaking, often finding time to take him to places where he could connect in his native language. During these years I became deeply knowledgeable about Walt Disney World, shepherding families and children of all ages through the parks with ease and enthusiasm.

An intensive position with a same-sex parent family in Manhattan, providing care for an infant and toddler alongside another full-time nanny. The role required extensive domestic and international travel, regular overnight stays, and a high degree of professionalism in a demanding, high-visibility household.

A warm, intellectually engaged position with a family of two school-aged boys in Washington DC. I placed a high emphasis on academic preparation, helping both children prepare for competitive school admissions processes while maintaining close collaborative relationships with their parents and next-door grandparents.

The position that began my career. Following the unexpected death of a mother two days after giving birth, I transitioned from part-time babysitter to full-time live-in caregiver for a newborn, a toddler, and their grieving father. When I moved on, I knew I had found my life’s work in helping families thrive. Since then, I have nurtured that calling through experience and education.

Original graduate research in positive youth development, childcare and child development, LGBTQ+ youth, and family thriving. Capstone work resulted in The Childcare Handbook, translating the scientific literature on childcare into an actionable guide for families.

I write young adult and romance novels for the joy of it. Storytelling has been central to who I am since childhood, and it shapes the way I engage with children: I believe in the power of narrative, imagination, and the particular magic of a book that meets a young reader exactly where they are.
